What Summer Professional Learning opportunities are the Technology Design Team offering?
We are so glad you asked! This slideshow highlights our Summer Professional Learning offerings open to Austin ISD staff. We’d love to see you!

Reminders about where to find district-sponsored content over the summer? Austin ISD staff only.

I am graduating/retiring from Austin ISD. How can I efficiently download my Google Drive contents to take with me?
Austin ISD teachers and students have unlimited storage in their G Suite for Education account. Before leaving the district upon graduation or end of employment, it is possible for the user to download all of their Google Drive, student Gmail and almost all other Google content created by the user using Google Takeout. To see it in action, watch this video demonstration on Youtube.

I am leaving the District and want to transfer ownership of some contents in Google Drive. How can I do that?
Google Drive allows us to transfer ownership of a document or folder. When transferring ownership, the previous owner becomes an editor on the document and can be removed by the new owner. Be advised: Google does not allow transferring ownership to an different domain. If you need to take your documents with you, please use the Google Takeout method described above.
Google provides a step set for the process. Here is a silent screencast demonstrating the transfer process.

How can students export their Minecraft: Education Edition world and share it with another student or import it on a personal device.
This video shows exactly how to export and import a world.

How may I support families and students who want to download an archive of student work in Seesaw?
Seesaw provides a detailed step set for downloading a .zip archive of a Seesaw journal Including all submissions. There are versions available in English, Spanish, and French.

Important Seesaw Reminders

End of Year Seesaw Information: Teachers will NOT BE required to archive classes this school year. This process will be completed automatically prior to the beginning of the 2021-22 school year. Teachers and families will have access to their 2020-2021 Seesaw classes through the summer.

The end of the school year is almost here, and with it comes the conclusion and archiving of Frontline SIS-pushed BLEND courses!

Students in courses in 20-21 terms will have access to engage and participate in course content until Jun 4 at 12 AM (Thursday night / Friday morning). Starting at that time, students will have read-only access to course content. Teachers will continue to have the ability to edit content, score assignments, and adjust BLEND grades until Jun 5 at 12 AM when teacher access transitions to read-only as well.

These changes will not affect courses in the “Ongoing” and “Default Term” terms. Courses in the “2020-21 YrLong-365” will transition to read-only Aug 1 at 12 AM. Check your course settings to find out what term it’s in.
